Encouragement from God's Word

Did you get your “summer clothes” out yet? As the weather warm, residents of Wisconsin get a whole new wardrobe.

As Christians, we have only one set of clothes. We have been freed from sin by the death of Jesus Christ. Through faith in him we are connected to him and given new hearts. Our new hearts produce loving actions.

Paul writes in Colossians 3:12–14:
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

As Christians, our lives show the wonderful virtues that God puts in us through faith in Jesus. Proudly display your new Christian “clothes” in all that you do.
