Who Are We?
Living Hope is a WELS Member Church and a Confessional Lutheran Church.

When danger strikes, most people instinctively move away from it. Fire, violence, accidents, and disasters trigger a natural desire to find protection and safety. Yet first responders do the opposite. Firefighters, police officers, and paramedics run toward the very scenes others are fleeing. They enter burning buildings, approach violent situations, and kneel beside the injured in chaotic moments. This response is unexpected because it goes against basic human instinct.
Today God calls us to be spiritual first responders when we see people in trouble because of sin. Instead of self-preservation and comfort, we choose service to them and to our Lord. Our motive is the grace of God and his desire for the salvation of all mankind.

We need rest. Studies show that with too little rest, people experience fatigue and physical imbalances that result in decreased attention, poor decisions, and even speech impairment. People who take no breaks during the workday have lower productivity than those who take periodic breaks.
Christians know they need more than sleep or physical breaks. We need spiritual rest. The only place to find that type of rest is Jesus. Jesus provides more than a pause in work or enjoyable recreation. Jesus provides the removal of our sins, the cleansing of our guilty consciences, and a gentle yoke of discipleship in the freedom of the gospel. In Jesus, Christians find rest from burdens and battles, and eventually eternal rest in heaven.

Mary Mornings
Women’s Bible Study meets the 2nd and 4th Saturdays @ 10:15am at the School Campus. New Study! Love Rules by Christina Hergenrader. It is a study of the 10 commandments applied to life today.

Help Needed! School Cleanup
Please join us to help clean up the outside school grounds (weeding, bush trimming, general clean-up)! Weather permitting, we will do this on Saturday, September 12th from 8 am until noon (rain date or if more cleaning is needed will be September 19th). Bring gloves, and tools to use. Any questions contact Dave Parbs.
