Encouragement from God's Word
“He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake”(Psalm 23:3). How does God want to be known? He wants to have the reputation for faithfulness. He wants to be known for his love. He wants to be known as a Savior. For the sake of his reputation, David reminds us that he always guides us on the right path. Does the path have bumps and troubles along the way? It sure does! The next verse in Psalm 23 reminds us that we travel “through the valley of the shadow of death.” But God guides us in each direction in a way that is consistent with his love for us in Christ Jesus.
Sometimes the paths God chooses are not the ones we would choose. But God will never be anything but loving and forgiving. We may not understand all his ways, but we can understand how he feels about us. Knowing his love for you, trust the paths that he sets before you. They are always based on his love.
