Encouragement from God's Word

You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed. -Joshua 23:14

In Advent we celebrate the fact that all the Old Testament prophecies came true. Jesus was born to a virgin in the city of Bethlehem and numerous other promises were fulfilled. Our salvation was promised and delivered when Jesus Christ came.

But Advent also reminds us to look forward. All the promises of God will be fulfilled. You will live in heaven through faith in Jesus. Your loved ones who died in faith are already there! Through faith in Jesus, your sins are forgiven, regardless of how good your memory of is. God sees your forgiveness as a certain reality. Because of this grace, God promises to watch over, guide, and protect you according to his perfect will. He promises to hear your prayers.

Pick your promise. It is or will be fulfilled. This Advent season, worship God as you rely on his promises that always come true.
